Secret Behind Earth’s Epidemic Unveiled!
“Leading Federation health experts sound the alarm - An epidemic has broken out on Earth.
All nearby medical laboratory operators are called upon to support the planet with their valuable products in this time of need. If the demand for medicines is not adequately met, planet Earth will lose hundreds of lives with each passing day!”

The generic GNN message floated across my desk. Our editor seemed to think that there was a story here… Having just returned from the ghastly Waayan epidemic, this reporter became suspicious of the outbreak on Earth. Events seemed to be conspiring to strike down the galactic population, and we were sure that there were sinister motives behind the whole thing. So, we dug. Nothing. We dug some more. We found more nothing. Truly, this was a conspiracy of epic proportions. Eventually, and after much digging, we determined that there was no link between the epidemics on Earth and on Waayan, but we did uncover the true reason behind the spreading disease in the Federation’s first home planet – a single interspecies relationship.
At first the Tribune was as shocked as I am sure you are. One couple did this? Unfortunately, it is true. While I will withhold the names of the duo (for now), rest assured that this reporter discovered things about Human and Ska’ari anatomy best left unpublished. A brief overview: mix one human female with a penchant for things that go “click”, and one masculine Ska’ari. What do you get? I’ll tell you – the worst case of crabs the galaxy has ever seen. People of Earth, heed our warning. Use the medicine that is being funneled to you. Don’t scratch at it, it only will make things worse.
Scouts Display Abnormal Intelligence Level…Destroy Pilot
Shini, the leader of ORB, drifted silently in Nusakan. His prey was just ahead, unaware of his presence. Suddenly, his engines lit up, his guns blazed, and he rushed into the fray against a Z-Series Fighter Scout. The Scout reacted about how he expected – a dizzying barrage of counter-fire, most of it wide. He enjoyed these little hunts. Today, however, was going to be different. He had killed several of the fierce Scouts using the same tactics. It was easy…boring…he decided to play with his prey a bit. Firing one last barrage at the badly damaged Scout, Shini retreated.
What he didn’t know was that this Z-Scout was not alone. During Shini’s first barrage of laser fire, his quarry had transmitted a weak distress signal. In a display of intelligence far exceeding most pilots, backup arrived by the time Shini decided to retreat. This one was not damaged at all…and this time it was the one doing the surprising. Now, both Scouts decided that it was their turn to mount an offense. Over 100 combat rounds later, Shini’s ship drifted silently again through Nusakan. Unfortunately, it drifted several different directions at once.
Shini was lucky. He managed to board his escape pod and extricate himself from the situation. Several pilots picked up on Shini’s distress calls and answered, including Pixx, Kevorkian, Night Viper, and others. Unfortunately, all were too late. Is this indicative of new, smarter enemies? If so, all of you Z-jockeys, beware. Where this all leads, only time will tell.
Narrow Escape
Isn’t it annoying when you think you have fuel and you don’t, and so you need to waste time and effort to get to fuel? And doesn’t it just get more annoying when you are just 1 field from the safety of a Wormhole? Well, this is what happened to Aurum Oculus just earlier this week.
He was so close to a wormhole to Ururur, but unfortunately had to wait to get fuel and continue his journey. He was mere meters from safety, when Hawk pilot Rawbert Macsushi came along and blew his ship to shrapnel with his 5 120MT magnetic defractors…
Aurum would have been killed if it wasn’t for his handy escape pod. This truly was a narrow escape for this Yarr Inc pilot.
Adventures in the Pardus Core
Many are familiar with Tribune Staff Writer, WalkingRazor. His articles have touched many pilots around the galaxy, and he is sent to get many of the most emotionally charged and physically dangerous stories. This week, the Tribune sent WR into the depths of the Pardus cluster. The Tribune had received information that new and dangerous creatures were dwelling in the core, and that access to the legendary cluster would soon be available. It turns out that both
rumors were true. WR and the Tribune response team maintained radio contact through the West Pardus Rim. Then, transmissions started to become garbled. Tribune radiomen swear that they watched WR approach a hostile MO, and then vanish from their radar fields. Hours later, a severely broken transmission was heard…something about “Lucidi.” A week passed. Still, no word from WalkingRazor. The Tribune began collecting for the Walkingrazor memorial bypass. Then, just as suddenly as he had vanished, Walkingrazor’s ship appeared on Tribune radar. Within a few hours, it had auto-docked at HQ. The Tribune medical team rushed on board and carried out WR’s rigid body on a stretcher. His ship looked like it had literally been dipped in acid, with very little original paint remaining and extensive pitting to the hull itself. His face was ashen and drawn, but his eyes flickered open briefly after being injected with some form of stimulant. He looked at me. “You won’t believe the things I’ve seen,” he said, before lapsing back into unconsciousness. The Tribune hopes to bring you the stories of Walkingrazor beginning next week. You don’t want to miss it.
