Rumored Trouble in Daaya

DaayaSometimes rumors are like onions. Last week, I get a snippet from a source who says there’s something big going down with Scorpion Guard. Having just finished the Guild attack, I assumed that this was simply some old information so I decided to peel a layer of the onion just in case. After checking with a few sources, sure enough, there was something going down in Daaya. The news confirmed it. Scorpion Guard was having action up in the Daaya area. And then I begin receiving communications from various people with completely different stories. It looked to be a vast spiderweb of different fighters battling around Dayaan for different – and guarded – secrets. Participants that I’ve managed to piece together include individuals from Scorpion Guard, MERC, Mooninites, Pharmacentricity, and various independents working out of Daaya.

While this was interesting, the next PM I received was from a source close to the matter. It seems the rumor mill wasn’t quite finished yet! Rumor had it that SG, along with certain other alliances, had it in for the residents of Daaya. Certain members had been testing the outposts protecting the Daaya inner cluster and the residents there were preparing for a potential attack.

It will be interesting to see if anything else comes of the situation…

[Editor’s note: If any sources close to the matter wish to PM their ‘thoughts’, I’d love to do a follow-up on this one…]

The Sadists and the Pirates

MOsJust having an MO up in place does not necessarily mean an area is secure. That seems to be the theme here the last few weeks as various MO’s have fallen in solid fashion to have the areas behind them pillaged and/or destroyed. The theme continues this week in Empire space with the Sadist Faction.

It’s never a good sign for an alliance when an MO is tested – especially when those testing are tough pirates. The Sadist Faction readied for the worst as the testing continued. The same day, a few pirates found their way in and began pirating within the sector. They were quickly blocked and trapped inside the MO walls, but they still had to be found and removed which is never an easy task.

The following day, Odin was discovered and consequently removed from SF space. Doombringer and other Famous pirates continued testing defenses as skirmishes began happening outside of the SF outpost walls. There was definitely the potential for things to get messy. And messy it got.

The following day, the Pirates attacked. But the Faction was ready for them. But not ready enough. Doombringer and Irrervian destroyed a handful of pilots at the MO site and were then able to raid, and then pass through the MO into SF space. Doombringer pressed on while Irrervian was forced back to NZ space for repairs. Inside SF, the call went out to all available pilots to ambush on the old MO to help plug the break.

With Doombringer loose inside SF space and the MO owner currently in a coma – Lenderz put out the call to destroy their own MO to replace it with an active MO. It’s easier said than done, but the well coordinated Sadist Faction had the MO brought down and replaced within an hour of the call. Ruby Legion aided in the rearmament of the MO while sending fighters up to help with the hunt. With the assumption that Doombringer would attempt to get out the way he came in the team set ambushes on the new MO and waited…

It was only a matter of time now. Without assistance from Famous Pirates outside SF walls, Doombringer would be brought to justice.

Ship Architects Compare Designs

There are many differences that keep people apart. Race, faction, alliance, or even the ship they fly. However, the love of ship designing has brought together a varied group of architects who have worked tirelessly to bring the universe the potential in what ‘could be’ one day.

I wanted to post a few of my favorites, but if you haven’t taken a look at the prototype manual, you might want to take a look. The designs here are outstanding and worth a read. Hats off to all the architects and their designs.

You can find all the designs here:

Slaves of Zirr:

Our time here is growing short. Soon, your incentive to revolt will be gone, and the blood of future generations upon generations of your ancestors will be on your hands. There is no risk here. It’s a certainty that you are going to die if you sit and do nothing. I plead with you to take the chance I give. It may be the only one you ever get. Do you grasp at the one opportunity for life, or shall we watch be forced to ship you and your citizens across the universe to die in some unimaginable way.

The choice is yours.
